This is in my wheel house.
Hefty proof with a beautifully dark color.
Nose is rich and full with brown sugar, dark cherries, oak, and roasty nuts.
Taste is again rich, vanilla, cherry, banana bread & more sweet oak.
Finish is long and smooth, mouth coating with just a touch of Kentucky hug. I get some tongue coating over cooked banana bread in the aftertaste.
Top shelf.
Rested 15 minutes. Served neat in a Glencairn.
Nose - a little spicy. baking spices, black pepper, vanilla, cinnamon.
Palette - a little heat. Black pepper, cherry. Something else I can’t quite recognize but I really like it.
Finish - toasted oak, black licorice, the aftertaste of caramel and gingerbread.
Love this bourbon. Very smooth with a particular taste. Love the higher proof. Would rate it a little higher, but I think the $60 price brings it back down.
