Old Forester // Kentucky, USA
Released annually to celebrate the birthday of Old Forester founder George Garvin Brown on September 2, Birthday Bourbon is a vintage-dated, one-of-a-kind bourbon selected from barrels made on one day of production. The 2025 edition is unique from previous releases as it was made without the use of "setback" during fermentation. Instead, it was made with a sweet mash process using freshly propagated yeast. Once again, the brand is holding an online lottery on OldForester.com from August 18-21, 2025 for the opportunity to purchase a bottle. Winners will have to pick up the bottle at distillery in Louisville. It's also available at select retailers nationwide beginning September 2025. (SRP $199.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma is light with notes of wheat bread, toasted sugar, and waxy corn. The bourbon is soft and round on the palate with flavors of corn flakes cereal, apple peel, and gentle oak flavors. Finish is pleasant enough with more of a spicy and tangy ending, but it's not terribly complex. Leans more savory than sweet overall and definitely a departure from past OFBBs — it's less rich and satisfying than previous editions. "
