Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon 90 Proof

Neck pour was not great. Had a medicinal overtone very atypical for OF. After a few additinonl pour this has opened up and gotten better.

I can’t believe I’ve been passing on these...they’re fantastic. Sadly the proof leaves me a bit wanting on the finish. But the few I’ve had have been at least as good as the OF100, if not far surpassing.

Slightly sweet on the palate. Drinks a little hotter than it should. Neck pour. Should give it another try with some head space.

Store pick. Warehouse K. Floor 3. Really incredible, low alcohol nose. Vanilla from nose through finish. Smooth and easy to drink, but probably not worth 2x cost off OF 100. OF 1920 is very different but worth paying a bit more for.

I love their 100 proof and 1920 editions, so I had really high hopes for this store pick. Cool bottle. Boring whiskey 😕

Floor 1 Warehouse O. K&L pick. This was fairly bland on its own. Used it to make old fashions.

Really great bottle (floor 4, warehouse J). Creme brûlée, vanilla, and some caramel on the palette with a soft oak finish. Disappointed to hear that OF is discontinuing the single barrel 90 proof expression. Definitely going to pick up a couple more bottles before they’re gone!
