Tasting Notes
"The nose is filled with cinnamon and fennel coupled with strong black tea and citrus peels. Beyond that is the impression of red pepper and allspice. The rum enters with a watery splash followed by some cayenne heat and cinnamon stick. A bitterness soon coats the palate, and the citrus peels (mostly Seville orange) appears. Beyond this is some licorice and black pepper with cardamom and nutmeg. The finish is confounding with the watery foundation fading rapidly while the bit of spice and tannins linger. Absent the sweet vanilla many expect in spiced rums, the Cajun Spice is certainly unique. Sadly the spice blend falls flat, which is especially disappointing at this elevated price point."
