Seven times distilled grain spirit is used, infused with natural and local Orcadian botanicals. Johnsmas is inspired by the long, clear days of an Orkney summer where the sun barely sets.

"Orkney Gin Company Johnsmas starts on notes of vanilla and woody mint, as well as rosewater, cherry blossom, and lavender. Vanilla returns on the palate, accompanied by a whiff of orange, as well as lychee or yuzu, and cracked black peppercorns. Not the most traditional of gins, but it works very well."
