Owney's Original NYC Rum

Named after Owen Madden, a famous rum bootlegger/ smuggler in New York during Prohibition. Today Owney’s rum is made “above board” from all natural, non-GMO molasses sourced from Florida and Louisiana. The molasses has only been partially refined leaving a fairly high sugar content and the mash is fermented over a five day period and is bottled without barrel aging. All of this takes place at The Noble Experiment Distillery in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Silver RumAKA Blanco, Light, White. Rum that is usually aged (but not always) and carbon-filtered to remove any color. No specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for aging for most countries with a few exceptions.
"The nose is a little unusual with notes of lemon zest, Pine Sol, yeast, herbs and spoiled milk. The palate was very soft and displayed hazelnut, lemon, Smarties candies, cotton candy, copper, chlorine and fresh baked bread."
