Papa's Pilar Dark Rum

Not terrible but way overhyped and seems like there’s some added flavors going on. Aroma of a fresh baked pan of sticky buns. On the palate I get heavy root beer flavor with a little amped up sweetness and viscosity with hints of warming spices and caramelized pecans and a touch of fruitiness. Not bad but not worth the price. Bottle is a total PITA is pour from.

This is nice. Nice caramel and cocoa notes on the nose. Flavor is quite sweet but with an earthy quality. Oak and sherry come through on the finish. And do I detect just a hint of tobacco? Maybe wishful thinking.

Smooth, easy drinking

Strong caramel base flavor with hints of vanilla. Goes down smoothly with mild burn. Solid rum overall. I personally would not buy it again.

Vanilla, toffee, and oak. Very nice sipping rum
