Patrón Añejo Tequila Sherry Cask Aged

My expectations were much higher. Good. But not special. Spicy. Herbal. I expected more sherry fruitiness. Not much here. Yes, its more complex than a regular tequila but there are much better varieties. Still its a nice sipper.

Very nice, like a cross between a hood Tequila and a whiskey

The tequila that can get whisky drinkers into tequila especially those who love Macallan, Glendronach, Glenfarclas, etc. This sherry cask aged tequila has lots of sherry influence consisting of notes of raisins, Nutella, pecan pie, cloves, maple syrup, licorice, figs, dates, ginger, orange peels, Christmas cakes, green chili peppers, almonds, cranberries, mulled wine, and some cooked agave. This may not be for pure tequila drinkers as the sherry overpowers the agave and although I enjoyed it and would recommend trying it once at some point, I wouldn’t put it up there with Tears of Llorona, Gran Patrón Burdeos, Arte Extra Añejo.

As others have said, the Sherry notes are very prominent... And that's why I like it. It is so unlike any tequila I've had on the palette. On the front end is the typical agave notes, but it gives way to that sherry cask very quickly. There's some heat at end when it goes down, but not very much. Big fan of this expression; and the for the price it's definitely worth sipping as an everyday pour. If you want something new, give it a shot.
