RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"The Hungarian oak cask is a nice match with the hearty and herbal rye as it provides a toasted warm spice counterpoint. There's a touch of apricot and honey here too, but those notes are pretty washed out on the palate with the rye taking over. It's moderately full on the palate and just a bit tannic. Far from a dessert whiskey, the wine cask comes back on the finish to close out the drink. Overall, a nice addition to your home bar. Feels more like an autumn or winter whiskey. Adding a splash of water intensifies the spice factor as well as brings out the green notes in the rye. "
