Phraya (pronounced "prai-ah" and meaning "of higher rank") is a gold rum produced in the Thailand province of Nakhom Pathom. It's a blend of rums that have matured in charred oak barrels for 7 to 12 years.
Gold RumRum that is often aged, but can also just have caramel-coloring added to provide color. No specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for aging for most countries with a few exceptions.

"A cloud of vanilla-tinged sweetness introduces the unique Thai rum; prevailing breezes of wood, brown sugar and cream of coconut waft by as well. Coconut and chocolate dominate on the palate with the aid of cigar-box wood. It all adds up to a tiki-like drink without the need for exotic tropical ingredients or paper umbrellas."
