Excellent value. It's a softer gentler rye. Good introduction for bourbon drinkers given its high corn content. Arrival is sweet with caramel. You get the rye notes in the development and finish. Cereal and biscuit notes. A hint of spices and not not much pepper. I get a subtle chocolate note. Even at 110 it handles well. A touch of heat but is balanced well.

Proof is noticeable on the nose also light brown sugar notes and cocoa. Palette is likewise sweet and not peppery. Some warmth on the finish. Pleasant and enjoyable. As it sat it moved from peppery to cocoa and dusty to grainy.
Compared it to Lock Stock & Barrel 13, and WhistlePig 100/100 single barrel cask strength. The proofs were close. Pikesville was decidedly single noted comparatively but was able to stay in the race especially at the relative price point.
