Pikesville Straight Rye

Nose is extraordinary—caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar. Taste mostly follows suit with a good balance of rye spice, but a little too hot for its own good. Ice opens it up a bit.

Strong burn even with a squirt of water.

So much going on in the nose. I’m not good enough to pick out most of it. I get snickerdoodle cookies and cherries. The mouthfeel is velvety and delightful. Tastes like berry crisp. The heat is there but not overpowering. The finish goes long and strong with earthy notes, even a touch of salty air. A little water brings out some type of berry note. This is really good stuff l!

Too spicy for my taste. Feels young.
