I dont know what year i had at the bar cuz i forgot to ask. Probably the most cohesive bourbon ive ever had and very approachable for the proof (120-130). Big oak, vanilla, dark cherry, and dark berries. The variery of flavor was actually quite simple bur the flavor came in waves producing a very long finish. Definitely not the most complex but probably the most cohesive bourbon i’ve had with zero bitterness or dryness from the oak tannis, which to me was the most impressive part. Definitely a must buy at $100 or even a little more but the secondary prices don’t make no sense.

This one a crazy nose of mustiness, maybe some fruit, maybe some residual cooking smells from grandmas house. It just reminds me of the inside an old well used house. The palate follows suit but is light on the peat but has a longish fruity finish with orange flavors. Its all a bit light and less intense then i usually prefer.

Laphroaig 10 Year Sherry Oak Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 6, 2025 (edited October 28, 2025)Man I love Laphroaig! This one has so much on the nose. Its just straight fruit and laphroaig smokiness. Youd think the palate would be sweet judging from the nose. But nope yiu get thr Laphroaig goodness though woth a wonderful dry fruitiness and a very twnnic drying finish that goes for a bit almost like a dry red wine. The finish is so different from the nose but I love it. Also get a bit of black licorice, leather, tobacco in the finish which seems to be what I get from much of the Laphoaig offerings I’ve had. This is too notch stuff but a little pricey for a full bottle. -
The nose on this is so nice and strong with peat and coastal notes. Thr flavor is brash peat with a bit of lemon. Its kinda sour which is my only complaint really. I lovr the smoky finish reminding me of smoldering logs. I get a similer finish on the 16 which i really like about Lagavulin.15.0 USD per Pour

Fruity nose. Soft palate with nougat, cherry, vanilla, and baking spices; oak present on finish. Have read very conflicting reviews, as the sourcing of this may have changed at some point. This one has great balance and finesse, and is a huge step up from regular bulliet. Having said that I don’t think I’d wanna pay much more than $35, which is what I got it for on sale. The Four Roses SiB may have a slight leg up with complexity but not worth the extra $15 to me at least. I mention FR SiB as it’s generally believed that’s the sourcing for this whiskey. They do taste a bit similar as well.35.0 USD per Bottle
