Plantation Rum Barbados 2000
Plantation Rum // Barbados
This rum was distilled in Barbados in 2000 and is a blend of pot and column-still rums. Ex-American whiskey and ex-sherry casks were used for the initial aging before being transported to France. The Plantation rums are then re-casked and aged in Cognac in former cognac casks in their cellars in Cognac.
Aged RumRum that is aged, but no specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for length of aging, but will often carry an age statement (which should be taken with a grain of salt). Often thought of as "sipping rums".

"Though the aroma is somewhat closed, you can, if you really stick your nose in the glass, some roasted coffee beans, brown sugar, and vanilla. On the palate, the rum is tangy and sweet and you can really get a sense of the whiskey barrels used for aging. Perfectly fine to sip with mild hogo/funk notes. The finish is bittersweet."
