Taildragger Amber Rum
Gold Rum
Tailwinds Distilling // USA
Tailwinds Distilling was founded by brothers Toby and Jamey Beall, whose company is a celebration of their family's roots in American aviation.
The rums are made using first-boil molasses, not blackstrap, which are fresher, thereby passing on a character closer to agricole.

Tasting Notes
"Though an aged rum, the color is still a pale straw. However the rye barrel has done its work! The butterscotch, vanilla and tropical fruit flavors of the rum play well with the rye bread and spice notes from whiskey barrel, which also cut the sweetness somewhat. This is one that would be a shame to mix in a cocktail, (though that would probably be a pretty spectacular cocktail.) All it needs is a rock to cool it down."
