Reviewed November 2, 2022 (edited December 17, 2022)Cask 2, bottle 140. Not at all what I expected from a Jamaican rum. Very restrained on the nose, no “funk” whatsoever, just caramel, vanilla, faint tropical fruits and brown sugar on the nose, some red fruits appear late. It’s slick and rich on the palate, no burn, semisweet and slightly viscous with more of the caramel, vanilla, tropical and red fruits of the nose. Finish is medium length and slightly spicy with the same notes from the nose and palate. Not terribly exciting but, certainly very drinkable. Forgot that I had tasted a sample of this previously. I guess I was not as impressed this time, but will certainly enjoy this bottle to the finish! -

Reviewed December 26, 2020 (edited January 2, 2021)If I had tasted this blind, I would not have pegged it as Jamaican rum. In fact, I may not have pegged it as rum at all. It smells and drinks more like a bourbon finished in rum and wine casks. Cask 2, bottle 139. Vanilla, caramel and red wine aplenty on the nose. Buttery entry on the palate, more vanilla, caramel, red wine, baking and barrel spices plus hints of tropical fruits. The medium finish starts with a bitter note which quickly dissipates leaving, at last, what reminds me of spiced rum to slowly fade away. -
