Nose: christmas spices, cinnamon dominant, caramel
Palate: cinnamon! Caramel, milk chocolate, like "dobos" cake , candied sour cherry.
Finish: oak spices, caramel. Long and spicy, but not too pungent.
For me, the vanilla and baking spice notes are a little overpowering and reduce the overall complexity of the rum, and it’s a bit too sweet but not obnoxiously so. Probably would benefit from a slightly higher proof. It’s a notch below the other great sippers in this price range like Zacapa 23 and Santa Teresa 1796 in my eyes. Still very good though.
