I am much more of a bourbon drinker who is just testing the waters of some non whiskeys. I chose this as my second rum choice after Flor de Cana Gran Reserva. This is much better and smoother. I assume because of the bourbon barrel aging it has tastes found mostly in bourbons. This is much sweeter than any bourbon I have had, but still a very solid juice. It has a bit of spice on the finish but not overpowering. Plantation XO is definitely delicious enough to have piqued my interest to try out a few more rums.
