Peaty and smokey notes with a hint of zest. On the palate, peaty tones are very predominant with a sweet zesty taste and a strong peaty aftertaste that lingers for a while.
Nose - wood smoke and salt, like sitting next to a bonfire on the beach, some lemon peel, light floral notes
Palette - oily, smokey, slight brine, lemon peel, some anise spice, a bit zesty
Finish - rich and lingering smoke, mild burn
Has a pretty unique very light straw color. There’s definitely a bit of peat in the aromas, but surprisingly little for an Islay - the dominant smell is that of bananas, to my nose. Similarly flavors to taste as well - this is VERY sweet for a Scotch, but not bad once you get acclimated. I agree with the official Distiller review that suggests this is a Scotch that would go well with food.
