Prichard's Fine Rum

Prichard's rum is made from molasses and distilled in a copper pot still. The rum is aged at 40% ABV in new, fifteen-gallon charred oak barrels.
Aged RumRum that is aged, but no specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for length of aging, but will often carry an age statement (which should be taken with a grain of salt). Often thought of as "sipping rums".

"The deep copper bronze rum bears a nose more akin to whiskey than rum. Wood, spice and sweet corn waft from the glass; there is very little astringency. The rum enters with a watery wash over the palate with rye spice, sweet corn, charred oak and black pepper leading the way. Again, the flavors are far more similar to bourbon than rum. Pushing further, subsequent sips provide some fruit including ripe pear and baked apples, but the finish is so short, that one must keep sipping almost continuously to determine the flavors present. The short finish is unsatisfying at best. A confusing spirit that belies its label of "rum"."
