Nose is light. Taste and finish merge quickly together. I pick up a smokiness that blends with the oak. If this were a rye I would have described it as a rye funk without the pepper. It’s not bad but just not my ideal flavor profile. The best part of this bourbon is the finish. The flavor slowly dissipates with no heat.
I won’t criticize you if you like this bottle as it is smooth (as my mother really does), but I don’t. I feel like the oak takes the lead oar and the complexity is lacking.
