Rabbit Hole Heigold Kentucky Straight Bourbon

first sips of the first pour was like drinking dry air.. no flavor on the mouth and the finish vanished immediately.. BUT opened up a lot after it breathed for a bit, sweet with a hint of spice, vanilla, no bite at 95 proof I really wanted to like this, and i do, but i don’t think it’s worth the price point (just over $60 where i am) personally, it would be a competitive bottle for me in the low $30s

Smoky, strong rye flavor, slow burn

So much going on in the nose: brown sugar, cinnamon toast, butterscotch, rye bread. The palate is a little tamer, boasting lush oak and rye toast. The finish is medium-long with lingering peppery rye spice.

Fairly smooth and easy to drink. Nice sweetness, but not to much complexity.

Got a lot of cherry or black currant notes and some tartness when drank neat.

Exceptionally pleasing nose. Very sweet providing an delightfully unexpected surprise for a heavy rye. Strong aroma for a lower proof and 4 year bourbon. Taste is smooth with prominent rye without being overpowering. Classic rye spice mellowed out with a comforting finish. Yet another solid rabbit hole expression.

Classic bourbon brown sugar nose. Drinks a bit hot for its proof but once you get into a nice nuttiness presents. Maybe that’s just the guy holding the glass. A little age would take this up a point for sure.
