Reviewed November 11, 2022I received two small taster bottles of this stuff with a particularly high dollar order from one of my favorite rare whiskey vendors. Everything about these taster bottles was screaming for me NOT to subject myself to tasting it neat but... I just had to... The nose smells like peanut brittle vape juice. That is.. it somehow smells like Caramel Popcorn and rancid peanuts that have been trapped under a damp piece of a cardboard for a few days. The smell is not appealing at ALL. Trying to ignore the smell, I brought myself to taste the stuff. Jesus H Christ this was the first whiskey I ever poured out of my glass. Before getting to the overpowering assault on your senses that is supposed to taste like Peanut Butter, the whiskey itself tastes young.... like really bad moonshine. Its bitter as all hell and bites with an astringency that makes you question if its really whiskey as a base. That astringency rides out the taste as background noise to the absolutely hideous, overly artificial flavor that dominates the taste. Its salty and musty and tastes like peanuts that have been swimming in some type of moldy slurry. Christ... I can't even finish this taste as I don't want to take another sip. If you're a whiskey lover. For the love of God and all that is holy.. don't drink this stuff. This is by far and away the worst whiskey I've ever had. The .25 Stars I'm giving it is generous. -

Reviewed July 23, 2020I like the richness. There is some alcohol though and there's definitely something a bit like rubber. It's not that good, though it's better than the majority of flavored vodkas. It has a more genuine peanut butter flavor than Sheep Dog does, but it just isn't as good and that rubber flavor makes it worse than 99 Peanut Butter too. Perhaps I should have bought a Skrewball mini to compare too.15.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed July 22, 2020This smells a bit more like peanut butter than Sheep Dog does. It has a hint of Reese's cup rather than just butterfinger. The palate is harsher with less subtlety. There's some richer but slightly more artificial caramel. The flavor is less complex than that of Sheep Dog, but it does taste more like actual peanut butter. There's something a bit artificial in this flavor profile though that there wasn't in Sheep Dog. I'd give slight preference to Sheep dog for drinking neat. For mixing... Uh, I'm not sure what this would be mixed with, so I'm not sure. Of Sheep Dog, 99, and this, Ram's Point tastes the richest and most like peanut butter. But. It also tastes the most artificial and sort of gross. If I had a cocktail that called for peanut butter whiskey, I'd probabaly choose this. Otherwise, I'd probably choose one of the other two. This leaves me with the dilemma of having to answer the questions "are there really cocktails calling for peanut butter whiskey?" and "would anyone ever drink one of these things neat?". Honestly, I might actually sip a small portion of Sheep Dog or 99 Peanut Butter at dessert time. This is still way better than most of those flavored vodkas, so it isn't awful, but it isn't really great. I'll give it an 8 for it's fun sweetness and richness and bump it up to a 9 for potential mixability.15.0 USD per Bottle
