A generous sample from dthom as part of the "whiskey transfer program".
Nose: Very much what I'd expect from an age stated 10 year wheated bourbon. Vanilla, honey, some grassy notes, and quite a bit of corn. Almost like a corn pudding. Butterscotch, caramel, and toasted pecans.
Flavor: Very sweet, poached apple, cinnamon, corn flakes, and more honey. A little thinner than I'd expect from the age.
Finish: Long finish, sweet and spicy with quite a bit of black pepper. Some baking spices like clove and cardamom and a little bit of barrel bitter that I found a hair off putting. Finishes with toasted pecans and barrel bitter.
Overall a good wheated bourbon but nothing to get super excited about. It's nice but a little bland and thin.
