Not great

Mixing something besides this is just foolish. All the nice spice, sweetness, and that fun cooking effect you get from rye is present. Straight or with a couple cubes, there isn't much nuance to the taste though.

close call between this. old Overholt bonded and dickle rye.

This is the best value in rye whiskey. It’s delicious with heat from the proof, spiciness from the rye, and a subtle sweetness underneath it to balance it out. You can’t possibly beat this for $25. It’s fantastic neat and also for any cocktail calling for rye. It’s a rye for bourbon drinkers no doubt.

One of the best ryes for the price. The nose is a marshmallow and sweet rye bread. It’s a strong flavor but smooth with some brown sugar and peppermint and chocolate hard candy. A small finish for 100 proof.

Definitely tastes like a farm field, but that’s what I was looking for
