Amazing. Shockingly good. Doesn’t taste overly boozy for 120 proof.

Gomers-KS Barrel Pick, 5yr., 119 Proof. Nose is very sweet and fruity with cardamom and cream of tartar. Flavor hits similarly but with a big rye hit of licorice that stays with you to the end. Very nice. Finish is peppery but short, which is the only real flaw, otherwise I would rate it higher. Rye drinkers will like this. Probably not a good choice for those on the fence or not into the rye anise flavor profile.

Ummm, this is fantastic, especially for the price... Decided to take a chance on this, and man am I happy I did. I might go buy another bottle just to make sure I have one. NOSE: sweet, pleasant, flavorful & complex PALATE: Early hit of spice and sweetness. Nice arrangement of flavors. Moderate oily mouth feel, I wish it had a bit more, but that's me. It's still quite nice. It is very drinkable and enjoyable at this proof. FINISH: Really Really nice. The spice lingers on the palate asking with some of the complex flavor, but not overbearing.

The first bottle of rye I have bought for myself in a long time. It looked pretty on the shelf, had a cool gold sticker that said “hand selected for Texas (my new state of residency), and had a very solid price of $40 (that’s my what the hell price... if it’s garbage, I don’t feel like I got ripped off). I definitely did NOT get ripped off. Very mellow on the nose, with slight spiced bread... then you sip it. It starts off very delicate for what it is. I was about to be disappointed... then it hit. Heat, spice, potency... arousal. It was like standing in the street waiting for the parade, wondering where the hell they were, and immediately being trampled, but enjoying it. The parade (or finish) lasts forever after it comes, giving a long spicy cornbread with hints of nutmegged toffee after taste. This is a great rye for the price with lots of flavor, you just have to be patient and let it expose itself. Glad I picked it up. Will sip slow and long.

Joe's Wine & Liquor single barrel select... Lush peach, peach pie, pie spice, smooth. Definitely a rye that's wanting to be a good bourbon.
