But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"This seems to be a more savory than sweet rye expression from the nose with leather and oak mixing well with the rye notes. There's some darker aromas that comes through by letting it sit a bit more, like coffee with a splash of vanilla cream. . Although it's not a chore to drink it at barrel proof, adding water opens up the whiskey. It's rich and chewy with the rye grain front and center here. Solid whiskey and one that needn't be finished in any kind of barrel which these days is nice to see. "
