Rothman & Winter Orchard Pear Liqueur

Reviewed October 22, 2022Very sweet, with a wine-y overtone that overshadows the pear flavor. Tried it in a Seattle Southside; totally lost beneath the lemon juice. Tried it in a Pear Elderberry Collins; also lost. On its own, it tasted like overly sweet wine with the faintest pear in the background. I dislike wine of any kind, so this liqueur was a huge disappointment, as I adore pears. For me, I think I'll just be using pear nectar in cocktails to achieve the pear flavor, and skip on the pear liqueur. If you like the taste of fermented fruit, with very little pear flavor, this Orchard Pear Liqueur might be for you.25.99 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed August 10, 2020Nice moderated sweetness as I've found in all R&M fruit liqueurs, which is a big pro. Can always add sugar to a cocktail through other means, hard to take it away. Mild nose, also common. First instinct is to say the pear taste is tragically mild, but must remind myself that applies to pears in general, so perhaps an accurate expression. Quite nice, actually, but for nuanced cocktails only. Will easily get lost in anything too bold. As always, props for use of the actual fruit eau de vie.21.0 USD per Bottle
