Russell's Reserve 13 Year Bourbon (2023 Release)

Tried it neat and on ice. On the nose is baking spice and fruit. Tastes like a spicy grilled pineapple. Even neat the heat isn’t to strong. Didn’t even realize it was barrel proof until after we had a few sips. On ice its great but to much dilution and it breaks down. Like a lot of whiskey just a little water makes it perfect. Excellent high proof bourbon.

Nose: Tobacco oak fresh baked cookies Palate: viscous, oak, cherries. A touchnof water opens it up. Finish- caramel and pepper. Excellent

Just pretty good. Recognizably similar to the 10 year (tastes like a higher proof, slightly more complex version). Possible I just got an off bottle but given WT's emphasis on consistency, I doubt it. Hype 1, me 0.
