Reviewed December 28, 2025 (edited December 29, 2025)The nose starts off oaky with touches of vanilla and brown sugar. There is a bit of floral rye and ripe fruit that soon makes an appearance. It all comes together rather nicely, not quite giving away its age but definitely coming across as rich and full. The palate is soft and starts off with a burst of charred oak and brown sugar. Quite a unique opening. It has a great chew and gives way to bit of baking spice hitting the corners of the mouth. You can get a bit of cherry syrup and vanilla, but it ultimately doesn't open up to much more. Not to say it is bad, it is a great sipper. But perhaps it is a little out of balance considering how spicy it can be at only 98 proof. Higher proof might allow more of its age to shine, but probably would be at the overall detriment. The finish is medium with lingering oak and cherry syrup, while spice and brown sugar fade away. Nice to sip, but not without its flaws.
