Siete Leguas Añejo Tequila

Siete Leguas anejo receives a 5 star due to the fact that the agave component is at its core. Typically anejo tequilas get overwhelmed with oak and complexities that overshadow the agave. On the nose we pick up aromas of roasted agave, grapefruit, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon. The flavors follow suit with a strong presence of roasted agave, oak, citrus components of grapefruit that tend to be more tart than sweet, and vanilla. For a purist, the respect paid to the agave flavors make Siete Leguas anejo a top choice.

Muted nose with a citrus fruit base.

The reposado is the best in this brand. This one is very strong, peppery and spicy. Taste cheaper then the repasado

The nose is whiskey and oak, cooked agave sweetness, earthy, honey, pepper and spice. Vanilla with a pinch of butterscotch, caramel, pepper. Decent tequila especially for the price

Neat. Light straw in color and long legs. Aroma is bright with some ethanol. Agave fruitiness dominant, with citrus, herbal, vegetal, oak and minerals. Notes of butterscotch, nuts, vanilla, and honey are in the background to explore rather than having them so up front. Flavor is more bright agave fruit with anise, mint, brine, oak, vanilla, warm cinnamon and allspice, light caramel/butterscotch and nuts. Finish is a little oily, sweet, cinnamon, light oak tannins Maybe a little toward the younger of anejos, but I really like the way it's still agave forward with the wood aging notes playing harmony instead of dominating. Lots of flavors here to find. Definitely reward to relax and sip with. Very good value considering the quality
