Smooth Ambler Old Scout Straight Bourbon Store Picks 5 Year

Nose: wheat, dusty corn, leather shoe, brown sugar, toasted grains. Palate: apple, cherry, cinnamon, vanilla, pear, brown sugar, toffee. Finish is warm and full of vanilla and all the sweet notes. Hot and unique. Opens up over time to be wonderful and surprisingly complex.

Color: Chestnut Nose: vanilla, smoke, oak, peanut Palate: so much vanilla. Orange zest, spice, and oak. Tannic Finish: medium finish, lingering heat

A buddy’s barrel pick. Called “Firestarter”. I’m just happy to be with friends and my boy. Life is good. Vanilla, Carmel and some citrus finish. Love it!

This was my first store pick. A 5-year barrel pick from my local store. I’ve never been a fan of barrel strength stuff. Too many of them are ethanol bombs for my pallet. But this one (barrel #24178), bottled at 58.8% alcohol is flat out delicious. Starts with a big floral nose that moves to toffee, peanut brittle, and honey on the palette wit a nose oak warm burn finish. One of the best bourbons I have tasted.
