Spring44 Mountain Gin
Modern Gin
Spring44 // Colorado, USA
Spring44 is quick to point out that 96 percent of the premium clear spirits consumed in the United States are imported. With Colorado’s premium water supply and bounty of botanicals they believe that they can compete favorably with the overseas brands.
Even their beautiful Vendome copper pot/column still is manufactured in Kentucky. Most of the botanicals are certified organic and the Mountain Gin features some classics such as juniper, coriander, and orris root and some more contemporary gin favorites like kaffir lime leaf, peppermint, and basil.

Modern GinAlso has been referred to as "Contemporary", "New Western", "New Wave", and "New American". This style is not legally defined. In general, this category of gin, while it does contain juniper, places less of an emphasis on this botanical. Other botanicals not classically used in London Dry gins are often utilized and often highlight botanicals grown in the region the gin is produced. Most produced as either London Dry or Distilled Gins.

Tasting Notes
"This is a deeply perfumed gin with lush aromas of forest dew, sweet basil leaf, and earthy juniper. The palate has great weight and a lush textured that echoes many of the aromatic qualities. The finish veers from classic London dry with a kaleidoscope of peppermint hard candy, fresh herb-garden clippings, and a hint of burnt orange peel. A very complex gin worthy to be drunk alone, but with enough juniper character to make right in classic gin cocktails like a Negroni."
