Springbank 10 Year

Nose of tropical fruit, papaya, pear, roasted honey, and faint floral notes. In the palate, the peat becomes more apparent, with cracked white pepper with brine. Medium mouthfeel yielding to a medium finish with more of the white pepper and tropical fruit, although a biscuity malt note appears if you wait for it.

I really like this but I got lost as to why with all the drams sampled tonight. Gotta buy a bottle....dram at The Haven, Boston I bought a bottle. Nose is a bit smoky, a bit low tide, a bit paint thinner, and more I can't identify right now. Alcohol nose but not overwhelming. So far - lots of subtlety, much going on. Taste: Excellent sweet with pepper, again lots going on. Rich in the mouth - keeps on giving. I guess I taste some maritime influence because I can't ID it otherwise. Now I got some dark chocolate on the back of my tongue - just a hint. A tiny bit of nail polish remover also. This one is a keeper. I'm gonna have fun learning about Scotch with selections like this one. Got interested in the brand after viewing on Amazon Prime: Scotch - The Story of Whisky It's really a 4.375.

Peat enhances the fruity flavor profile, doesn't overwhelm it. Maximum smoke level for my personal flavor profile, I would reach for this again
