Stagg Barrel Proof Bourbon 22B

Favors are very intense. Spice on the back of the pallet. But rich and so complex. A group of us agreed that just a splash of water made it about perfect.

Cherry, chocolate, coffee, oak, cinnamon. Quite sweet and quite spicy. Nicely balanced and complex.

Cherry, oak, sweet candy, cinnamon.

On the nose I get cherry, cinnamon, and ethanol. On the palate it's stagg, it's hot, it's sweet, and it has a warming finish. This batch seems to lack the complexity of others, I will agree from another reviewer that it reminds me of hotter eagle rare. Cinnamon overtakes the sweetness and potential other flavors and it transitions to a woody note. Not my favorite stagg (jr) batch, but it'll drink.

Nose was wonderful. Like a warm molasses cookie on Christmas. Strong baking spices. Palate did not support the wonderful nose. I did get some fruit notes, and it almost tasted like Eagle Rare with a lot of ethanol. Just couldn’t get on board with it after a handful of tries so i gave it to a friend.
