Honestly I feel Stranahans has become a bit overrated and over-priced. But if you ignore the hype and the price it's still a good whiskey. It has more heat than I lot of what I drink but a good spice complexity. It's best to drink this with a touch of water - they even recommend that on the tour. Not sure what batches I've had.
Batch 138: Subtly sweet, like persimmons or sorghum, then transitions to a nice oak finish. Hints of minerals. Good for folks who want a whiskey with some depth, but want to avoid the sweetness of most bourbons and the smokiness of a lot of scotches.
