I really liked the Akashi Red and the Tenjaku blended whisky and thus decided to try the Suntory Toki, which is in the same price range. I see good ratings, so I have good expectations. Very light colour, almost 'beerish'. Sweet scent of vanilla sugar and licor 43, sweetness overload. Dried apricots and pineapple. Tropical. Light and mellow in the mouth, white chocolate, vanilla. But: barely any fruitiness. I miss the layers of freshness and crisp acidity. Bit too soft too. Hardly any burn. Doesn't linger. Aftertaste is too short. It's nice, but not a frequent flyer for me.
