Plantation rums are selected from various Caribbean regions, many of them vintage dated. This one was a molasses-based, pot-still rum from Jamaica. It was then re-casked and aged further in former Cognac casks at the Maison Ferrand who own the Plantation brand of rums.

Tasting Notes
"There's a funky pungency to this rum, but the 2001 version has even more than this one. The fruit notes here seem to be more like red apple skin, banana, and bitter citrus peel. The rum is rich and spicy, but the sweetness dulls that a bit on the finish which also shows just a touch of grass. Jamaican rums are no wallflowers; these rums are in your face."
