Nose: light sweetness, honey, vanilla, toasted cereal and grains, hint of a fruity or sherry note, spices, mild grassy or straw-like note. Palate: similar to the nose, honey, vanilla, toasted cereal, hint of orange/lemon citrus zest or peel, more presence of a spicy, herbal, white pepperiness and oak on the finish. Warm and smooth with a pleasant oily clinginess that keeps it lifted throughout the sip. Solid expression of an Irish whisky.
A fruity oily nose.
Smells of a strong sherry or brandy.
Quite an intense taste.
Salt and bitter warmth (not in a bad way).
Rich fruity and dark chocolate notes.
A long finish of black coffee and chocolate.
A lingering warmth.
I'm a huge fan of Teeling. This one is the sixth expression I've tried. Non-chill filtered, 46%, affordable, tasty. For some reason, it reminds of Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition, only more refined.
