Tequila El Mayor Reposado

Offered in the brand's characteristic "swoosh"-shaped bottle, El Mayor's reposado, produced from high plains blue agave, has spent at least nine months in toasted, white oak. The bottle sampled, number 29, was from batch 886 and exhibited a medium amber color. Pricing varies widely.
Tequila ReposadoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged from 2 months up to a year in barrels no larger than 20,000 L. Any type of wood is acceptable, although ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Reposado translates to "rested".
"On the nose there's light, white pepper coupled to a little floral; fleeting vanilla complements the spice and flowers, and there's some modest barrel influence. Some understated spice reappears on the palate--think baked apple. But more important is the enhanced vanilla and some more fully developed caramel (maybe candy apple if we put it all together). The finish, though it seems to shed any specific spice, is nevertheless hotter and peppery (black this time)--but is of modest length."
