Tequila Ocho Extra Añejo El Carrizal 2008
Tequila Añejo
Tequila Ocho // Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Master Distiller Carlos Camarena represents the third generation of his family of tequila producers. The Camarenas use traditional methods to produce tequila exclusively with agave from their own fields.
Rancho El Carrizal is located 6,500 feet above sea level, with the red soil that’s typical of the Los Altos region. Warm days and cool nights impart a balance of sweetness and acidity to the agave, similar to wine grapes.

Tequila AñejoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged for at least a year in barrels not to exceed 600 liters. Any type of wood is acceptable, but ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Añejo tequilas are also known as "aged" or "extra aged".
Tasting Notes
"An unexpected oyster liquor sets the tone for the briny, floral nose along with mint and lime. The viscous palate offers rich layers of baked agave, caramel, plantains, and hints of cocoa and dark chocolate. The warm and lingering finish offers more cooked agave, mint, notes of orange peel and oak."
