Tequila Tromba Añejo

A great anejo is when you taste the balance between the softness of pure agave and the woody notes left after aging in the barrel. I think this is a great representation of a Highland tequila and an awesome bang for your buck.

The sweetness of the blanco and reposado that I was expecting have been replaced by dry peppery spice. Not off-putting but definitely the defining feature versus the vanilla sweetness of its younger siblings. Light agave is present but not as rich or caramelized as most anejos. Not bad but nothing exciting. $70 in Ontario.
