Glenallachie 10 Year Cask Strength Batch 2

Un caramel de pêches, des abricots séchés, des raisins secs dorés, un beau nez, vraiment! Quelques fleurs jaunes/verge d’or/pissenlit, du bois épicé en fin de bouche et une belle longueur. Voilà un scotch unique, pas un Speyside classique, vraiment différent aussi des batch 3 et 5 (je n’ai pas goûté à la 4)!

Close to done with the bottle. Tastes like chocolate and orange, reminiscent of a cask strength version of glenfiddich 18. It’s good but don’t think I’ll have the itch to pick this rare bottle up even if i chance upon it again

Apricots and pears nose. Dried apricots continue with a solid mouth feel. A little astringent with a mild burn. Balanced sweetness. Longer finish.

Bottle is almost cashed. Tastes like chocolate chip cookies. Good unique dram. I expect subsequent batches to have more conventional sherry/wine profiles

A- amber +1, high viscosity N- w/water: honey, dark berries, raisins, apricots, cereal, wet oak P- w/water: spicy arrival, rich, full, a bit rough on the edges, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, rum cake, apricots, raisins, dark berries, oak F- medium-long finish, wood-sweet aftertaste C- I was expecting a bit more of this dram, had to add plenty of drops of water because it was a bit hot and harsh for my taste, heard really good things about batch 4 & 5 if you have the chance get any of those batches

Nose is some orange and toffee, with some darker fruits behind. Fairly floral as well. Taste is some pear and honey, creme brulee up front and the Sherry at the end. Hints of honey and vanilla on the finish.
