Glenlivet Captain's Reserve

Nose: Smoke-wood spice, burnt caramel Palate: Dried fruits (berry) Finish: Nonexistant

The Captains reserve has a very sweet forward profile which I really love, it is probably my favourite profile to have on a scotch. The ex-sherry cask gives it that sweetness that you want with some great notes of honey, vanilla, marshmallow, fruits, but is balanced with a spice from the the ex-bourbon cask as well.

Definite nose of apricot jam. Very sweet and welcoming. Deep, intense and flourishing palate! A small hint of apples, an honest confirmation of apricot jam with an interesting spice. Shares the soft spot of a delicious cinnamon bread. Mildly strong but smooth finish that leaves thirsty for more.

Sweet honey, very nice for the price!
