The London No. 1 Original Blue Gin
The London No. 1 // England
The London No. 1 Original Blue Gin is, in fact, distilled in London. However, due to the pale blue color which is added post-distillation it is not a "London Dry Gin". It is produced using 12 botanicals including savory, bergamot, licorice, cinnamon, and iris root and an English wheat neutral spirit. It is bottled at 47% ABV.
Distilled GinThis style of gin takes a neutral spirit and then adds juniper berries and other natural flavorings before it is re-distilled. After distillation, additional flavors (artificial or natural) and sweeteners may be added.
"There are bright citrus and piney juniper notes coming through as you take a whiff of the gin. The spices seem to dominate the gin with the earthy tones taking a backseat. This makes the gin seem to pop out of your glass. The licorice adds a gentle sweetness and the cinnamon comes through on the finish which is enhanced with the 47% ABV. The color is a fun gimmick. Why not show it off in a Martini or G & T."
