Lost Distillery Lossit
Peated Blended Malt
Lost Distillery // Scotland
The Lost Distillery Company produces whiskies inspired by shuttered distilleries, incorporating five to ten single malts in a blend, and further basing their selection on ten production factors. Lossit was founded in 1817 and stayed operational for a half century, until 1867. It was for a time the largest producer of whisky on Islay.
Peated Blended Malt100% malted barley from more than one distillery. Dried with peat.
"The nose initially offers sherry and fruits, with apricot, zest, and muscat, but there's smoke and brine beneath it. More smoke and peat at the forefront on the palate, a little bit meaty, with spice, and background fruity sweetness, showcasing sultanas and berries. Finish leaves closing notes of pepper, smoke, and more of that berry and sherry tandem."
