Good but wildly overrated. less rich and complex in flavor than glendronach 18 and bunnahabhain 18, each of which are far superior and much cheaper. Even macallan eds 3 and 4 are comparable to this 18 yr, perhaps richer due to the higher abv.
Always had a thing for older Macallan single malts, just that my wallet does not. Dates and figs, combined with other dried fruits. Bitter orange peel and marmalade. Nice round caramel finish. Never dissapoints!
Good beginner to intermediate friendly Scotch. Has flavors that are easy on the pallet such as dark fruit, floral, and vanilla but also includes hints of complexity that are not too over the top like bakers spices, and a light barrel char on the finish. A very delightful experience!
Smoothest scotch or liquor I've ever had. Has plenty of flavor though. Really pulls the sherry out of the barrel while not being overbearing at the same time. Superb.
