Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Cask

I'm reminded of the words of the great philosopher Flavor Flav: DON'T don't don't don't DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. Is it good? Yes. Is it $240 USD good? Do bears make great house pets? More importantly, someone explain to me how a NAS like the Rare Cask takes this 18 Year Old to the cleaners. Well... at least the Edrington Group priced both expressions properly in relation to one another. The nose has notes of orange peel and dried fruits. The palate is rich with wood spices, almond paste, a nuttiness I can't quite pinpoint , and dark chocolate on the back end. It's extremely complex, with further notes of dates, clove, and ginger. The finish... it's a tad too short. This expression is for people who have money to burn. Idiots like me. For the financially savvy among us, the Parliament 21 is a much better choice. Slainte!

Great whisky. Very smooth. Wonderful flavors of caramel, sherry, port, fruit, and a little smoke.
