Sun dried dates, plums, vanilla and clementine rind on the nose. Medium bodied, with a medley of raisins, semi-sweet chocolate, bursts of orange and cinnammon spice on the palate. Fairly long and spicy finish with rich tannins and butterscotch aftertaste. Overall, this whisky is fragrant, tasty, complex and balanced, but not $325 CAD good.
Strong figs on the nose. Intense maltiness that is balanced by a bright something I can't quite place. Surprisingly smoky on the tongue. Some raisins, zest, and spice, but mostly dried figs. Finishes with a slight bitterness, like cacao. 10/18/17

I'm reminded of the words of the great philosopher Flavor Flav: DON'T don't don't don't DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.
Is it good? Yes. Is it $240 USD good? Do bears make great house pets? More importantly, someone explain to me how a NAS like the Rare Cask takes this 18 Year Old to the cleaners. Well... at least the Edrington Group priced both expressions properly in relation to one another.
The nose has notes of orange peel and dried fruits. The palate is rich with wood spices, almond paste, a nuttiness I can't quite pinpoint , and dark chocolate on the back end. It's extremely complex, with further notes of dates, clove, and ginger. The finish... it's a tad too short.
This expression is for people who have money to burn. Idiots like me. For the financially savvy among us, the Parliament 21 is a much better choice. Slainte!
