Macallan Fine Oak 17 Year
Single Malt
The Macallan // Highlands, Scotland
The Macallan's sherry wood program has been something that folks have been focused on, but they have been using other wood types for at least a few decades now.
Launched in 2006, Macallan Fine Oak 17 is matured in a combination of three different wood types: European oak ex-Sherry, American oak ex-Sherry, and American oak ex-bourbon.

Tasting Notes
"Aromas reminiscent of autumn are initially what is found here. Apples, brown sugar and wood spices. Upon tasting you get caramel and almonds. The texture is less chewy than their 18 year exclusive Sherry aged whisky, but it's still got some body. There is a hint of char smoke with honey and more dried fruits on the finish."
